Reading the Powerball frequency table
The table below lists every white ball in the Powerball pool (1–69) with three figures: how many times it has been drawn across 1,393 official drawings (Oct 2015 – Aug 2026), how that count compares with the number of appearances chance alone would produce, and how many drawings have passed since the ball was last selected.
Because five white balls are drawn each time, every ball would appear about 100.9 times over this many drawings if the game were perfectly even. It never is, and it is not supposed to be. Random sampling produces spread. For a run of this length the expected standard deviation is roughly ±9.7 draws, so counts scattered within about 19 of the average in either direction are entirely ordinary.
Right now the gap between the most-drawn ball (21, at 124 appearances) and the least-drawn ball (13, at 76) is 48 draws. That looks like a meaningful difference and it is not: it is the ordinary spread you get from 1,393 independent trials. The mechanism that selects the balls has no memory of any of it.

What each chart on this page shows
White-ball frequency
A straight count of appearances per number. It answers a factual question about the past — which balls have come up most often in the recorded history of this game — and nothing about the next drawing. Tall bars are not "due to keep going" and short bars are not "due to catch up."
Hot / cold heatmap
The same counts rendered as a grid so you can see the distribution at a glance instead of reading 69 individual bars. Colour intensity maps to frequency. The visual clustering that appears in these grids is a normal property of random data, not a pattern in the machine.
Overdue numbers
The count of drawings since each ball last appeared. This is the statistic most often misread. A ball that has been absent for 72 drawings — currently number 23 — has exactly the same chance of being drawn next time as a ball that appeared yesterday. There is no corrective force in a lottery machine.
Sum distribution
The total of the five white balls in each drawing, plotted as a distribution. It clusters around 177 for a structural reason: there are far more ways to build a middling total from five distinct numbers than to build an extreme one. This says something real about combinatorics and nothing about which specific line will be drawn.
Powerball frequency
The bonus ball is drawn from a separate pool of 1–26, independently of the white balls. Its counts are tracked separately for that reason.
Top number pairs
Which two white balls have most often appeared in the same drawing. Some pair will always lead this list — that is arithmetic, not affinity. Pairs do not travel together.
Average sum over time
The monthly average of winning-line sums. The line wanders around the long-run average and keeps returning to it, which is what regression toward the mean looks like when nothing is steering the process.
Common questions about Powerball statistics
Does picking hot numbers improve my chances?
No. Every valid combination in a Powerball drawing has an identical probability. Choosing balls by past frequency changes which combination is on your ticket; it does not change the odds that your combination is drawn.
Then why publish the data at all?
Because the record is genuinely interesting, and because seeing the actual spread is the fastest cure for believing in patterns. The numbers on this page consistently show that draw history looks exactly like random data — uneven, clustered, and completely unpredictable.
How current is this?
The table reflects 1,393 drawings through Aug 24, 2026. Records are imported from official public sources after each drawing is certified.
Can I use this to build a system?
You can build one. It will not work. Any selection method — frequency-weighted, overdue, birthday, quick pick, or a line you have played for thirty years — produces a ticket with the same published odds.
